The Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Institute Student Research Conference Participation
Autumn Semester 2025/26
The Institutes of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) are announcing the Student Research Conference for the autumn semester of 2025/26.
The Conference invites applications from MATE students and high school students who engage in scientific activities that fit the institution's profile, pursue it for self-education purposes, and prepare it as a quality student work, which will be presented at the Student Research Conference.
Eligible participants: MATE full-time or part-time undergraduate, graduate, or undivided study program students receiving state scholarship or self-funded financing with an active student status at any MATE campus or training location or high school students studying at a secondary educational institution guided by MATE tutors/researchers.
Important deadlines:
Application start date: September 24, 2025
Application deadline: October 10, 2025, 23:59 CET
Submission of summary (resume) and thesis: October 30, 2025, 23:59 CET
Date of the Student Research Conference: November 19, 2025
Conference sections are created based on the papers that have been nominated. A minimum of 6 received papers is required to form a section. In case there are less than 6 papers on a particular topic, a multidisciplinary section may be established.
A university campus where an insufficient number of applicants apply will not organize a spring Student Research Conference. However, if necessary, the students studying at that campus will be welcomed to other campuses.
The main principle is that students can present their work in the sections formed at their own campus. If a section of at least 6 students cannot be formed at a campus or the campus does not organize a section, students can present their research findings at a Student Research Conference held at another campus. The Conference will be held in person, regarding the current health and institutional regulations, or online, if necessary.
The paper is evaluated by two experts in the field. If there is a significant difference of opinion in the evaluation of the student work (20% or more difference in the scores), the organizing institution's Student Research Conference Committee may request a third reviewer or refer the decision to the section committee's chairman's competency. The presentation of the paper at the Conference is 15 minutes, followed by a 10-minute discussion.
The Conference sections are organized jointly by the Campus Institute of Student Research Conference Presidents and the Institute of Student Research Conference Presidents/Responsible.
