The Georgikon Student Association

Last modified: 03. November 2022

The Georgikon Student Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) was founded in 1995 by the then students of Georgikon (in cooperation with the then faculty leadership of the Georgikon Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Veszprém). The reason for the foundation of the Association was the organization of university events, as well as their financial management.

Over the years, the association continues to operate with fluctuating leadership and a list of members, with a few years off, it has undergone several changes, but the current members are also committed to helping student events and students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our current goals are:

Organization of cultural and professional self-motivated groups.

Organization of forums for discussing educational, economic issues.

Establishment and management of cultural, social units.

Establishment of educational, cultural, scientific training and sports relations between Hungary and abroad.

Representation of the interests of the association in various local, national and international forums.

Participation in the work of domestic and international organizations whose goals are the same as those of the Association.

The Association currently has nearly thirty members, its current president is dr. György Pásztor, and the executive board (8 people) ensures its operation.

Currently, our Association performs several tasks on campus, we actively help the Student Council in organizing and conducting university events. In addition, we currently operate the Xiros Farmers' Club.

The events of recent years (epidemiological measures, etc.) have taken a toll on the Association, several of our active members have completed their studies, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit new members, but we are still here, trying to achieve our goals, which are still to organize and provide student life and student entertainment opportunities.
